Communist Party into the ranks of the Kuomintang so as

they would co-operate with us so as to secure the earlier
success of our National Revolution. But to our surprise,

to themselves the whole power of Kuomintang. Simultaneously they proceeded to usurp the control in our Central, Provincial aud Municipal Kuomintang Departments and our various other organisations, and admitting to office the various local bad characters and corrupt geniry confounded the whole
edifice of the Party. Furthermore they went on to
monopolize control in all associations of peasants and
workmen. They opposed our Northern Expeditions, trampled on the principles of our late President, and played the tyrant over the loyal members of our Kuomintang and our revolutionary
leaders. There are many facts which might be adduced to prove these statements and the Communists cannot deny them
Therefore the comrades of our Kuomintang convened a meeting in Shanghai, and were all ofthe opinion that the Communist Party had grow even more bold in plotting against our Kuomintang and that our Party and the Nation were in
imminent risk of extinction, and that we should ri se

for the salvation of our Kuomintang and the Nation. It
was therefore resolved that steps should be taken everywhere
simultaneously to purge our Kuomintang of all communists.
